In the local community, St. John’s provides emergency help from the church, including food and gas vouchers, to persons in need. Efforts are focused on emergency needs, typically reaching people before they have been able to arrange assistance through more traditional means.  Church members also provide resource counseling for individuals and families.

Funds are directed to help support area agencies, including Health for Friends, Food and Shelter for Friends and Norman Mission Ministry. Canned goods and other non-perishables are collected each Sunday at the church and delivered to local shelters. Volunteers also help prepare a regular lunch at Food and Shelter for Friends.

Projects are supported through individual donations designated for outreach and the rector’s discretionary fund.
