Oktoberfest and Mardi Gras highlight the projects of the St. John’s Brotherhood, which creates opportunities for the entire parish, and specifically for men and sons of all ages, to gather and share fellowship. Just before Lent, the Brotherhood serves-up plenty of Cajun cuisine and King Cake, with a side of entertainment, for Mardi Gras. Oktoberfest offers another family-friendly event for the whole parish, complete with beer and brats, live music and comedy.
Continuing a long-standing tradition of fellowship, men of all ages gather for a breakfast, at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month, in the parish hall.
Brotherhood members give their time to complete projects for the church, including yard work, painting, tree limb removal and other help.
