Sunday worship services are held at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

At the earliest service, 7:30 a.m., participants enjoy the beauty of sunlight streaming through the stained glass window behind the altar, a depiction of Christ, surrounded by Matthew, Mark, Luke and our beloved John, for whom our church is named. This service is quiet and contemplative, with no music, and uses traditional language.

The 10:30 a.m. service is considered our principal worship service and is accompanied by organ music and a choir.

Both morning services are held in the Nave of the church, accessible from the parking lot on the east side of the church and through the red doors on the west side, at the south end of the cloister walk.

Sunday school classes for children and youth, and adults, are held between the morning worship services, at 9:30 a.m.

Our 5 p.m. worship service is informal and is held in the parish hall, accessible through the east entry. At this service we share the Word of God through table discussions about the day’s Gospel reading. The service concludes with an extended time of fellowship and a meal.

Weekday Services

The service of The Holy Eucharist is held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Chapel of the Beloved Disciple. Many of those attending the Tuesday morning service stay for a Bible study afterwards, beginning at about 10:30 a.m.; this service uses the Scripture lessons for the upcoming Sunday. On Wednesday evenings we honor the Saints and celebrate many of the “Lesser Feasts and Fasts” of the church. Both weekday services include an opportunity for anointing.

A Centering Prayer group meets 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the church library.
