We are delighted to share that the Rev. Kirsten Baer has accepted a call to serve as the new Assistant Chaplain at Casady Episcopal School in Oklahoma City, beginning in August.

Kirsten has had a long interest in school chaplaincy, including serving in an internship at the National Cathedral School for Girls in D.C.

Kirsten currently serves as Co-Vicar of Grace Church in Yukon. On July 15th, she will step back from that role. After a time of transition, she will begin to serve as a part-time Associate Priest at Grace Church, primarily serving on Sunday mornings.

St. Crispin's Summer Camp is looking for medical professionals to volunteer for a week of camp this summer. All volunteers must be a licensed RN, PA or MD and be able to practice in the state of Oklahoma.

We need a volunteer for the following session:
Intermediate 1 (June 17th - 23rd)

Medical volunteers will receive a free week of camp in exchange for their help

My Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

I write to share with you the news of a transition in the Diocesan Staff. Erin Morgan, Chief Financial Officer and Canon for Administration & Finance, will be moving to Hawaii with her family and, therefore, will be leaving her position at the Diocesan Office. Erin has faithfully served our diocese for four-and-a-half years. Although we will miss her, we trust that this next step will be an enriching and joyful one for her family.

We will be hosting a Farewell Reception for Erin at the Diocesan Office on her last day, July 16th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. We hope you will join us for an opportunity to thank Erin for her years of dedication to our diocese, and wish her well on this next step of her journey! Our new Canon for Finance & Administration, William Buchanan, will begin on April 30th! Will and Erin will work together for approximately two-and-a-half months before Erin's departure, to help ensure a smooth and efficient transition.

Will has numerous years of accounting, auditing, and financial management experience, including several years working directly with our diocese through his roles at Hogan Taylor, LLP. Will earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration; Accounting and Finance from the University of Oklahoma, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Oklahoma. Please join us in welcoming Will to our Diocesan Staff!

Communion Campaign Calling for Prayer

Ascension Day to Pentecost

For the second year, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has joined the worldwide Anglican Communion in Thy Kingdom Come, a campaign initiated by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby calling for prayer by individuals, congregations and families.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension Day (May 10) and Pentecost (May 20) for more people to come to know Jesus. 

"Jesus taught us to pray 'Thy kingdom come, thy will be done'," Presiding Bishop Curry said in a video message for Thy Kingdom Come available here and here.

Storm season is upon us, are you ready? Each year we need to evaluate our disaster preparedness. Has anything changed that needs to be updated? Are the same people involved or has anyone new been added?

Here is a list of supplies to include in a basic kit, as recommended by Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security:

Water one gallon per person per day, for drinking and sanitation

Food at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food

Battery-powered radio and extra batteries

Flashlight and extra batteries

First Aid kit

Whistle to signal for help

Dust mask or cotton t-shirt to help filter the air

Moist Towelettes for sanitation

Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities

Manual can opener for food (if kit contains canned food)

Garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation

Unique family needs, such as daily prescription medications, infant formula or diapers, and important family documents

Matches in a waterproof container

Be Prepared and Be Safe!
