Ministry, like much of the work Jesus Christ has given us to do, is a ministry of relationships. Children, youth and adult supervisors, parents, clergy, and other volunteers come into contact with one another to share their lives, worship, have fun, and explore how their spiritual beliefs shape their lives.

Jesus Christ calls us to loving relationships that are healthy and helpful to each other, not taking advantage of those who are weaker or putting people in situations that are inappropriate for their age or maturity. All persons involved in ministry with children and youth, whether child, youth or adult, deserve to be treated as Jesus Christ would treat them, with love, respect, and kindness.

All participants in ministry deserve to be in a safe environment; which includes, but is not limited to, an environment that is free from harassment, abuse, and misconduct. These policies are meant to help provide for such an environment.

2018 Clergy Conference

St. Crispin’s Conference Center

Started about 17 hours ago | Tue, Oct 02

Get Directions: St. Crispin’s Conference Center, 36302 State Highway 9, Wewoka, OK 74884

Registration Deadline: September 26th

The 2018 Clergy Conference will be held October 2nd - 4th at St. Crispin’s Conference Center. The conference will begin with lunch on Tuesday, followed by time for Q&A with the Bishop, social hour and dinner. We will conclude with a Closing Eucharist on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. (slight change in time).

This year’s speaker will be Dr. Steven Tomlinson, the Associate Professor of Leadership and Administration at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. Dr. Tomlinson is a highly regarded teacher, and in 2014 received the Durstan R. McDonald Teaching Award. He will discuss The Spiritual Practice of Difficult Conversations: How to Listen and Lead When People Get Hurt, Scared, Angry and Polarized.

Just as last year, there will be many recreational opportunities available during our time together.

One option will be the traditional golf outing on the afternoon of October 3rd. To assist us in making reservations and planning accordingly, please indicate your interest in participating in these activities when completing online registration.

Unless prevented by illness or pastoral emergency, all active Oklahoma parochial clergy are expected to attend the entire Clergy Conference. I am sensitive to the fact that many of our bi-vocational priests and vocational deacons have to work during this time. While your attendance is welcomed, it is not mandatory.

Due to the limited rooms, all lodging will be double occupancy. Please feel free to self-select roommates, and list the full name of your preferred roommate when completing online registration below. Additionally, if you have any food allergies, please be sure to list them when completing online registration. St. Crispin’s needs advance notice to ensure that the appropriate food is ordered.

If you have any questions, or need assistance completing registration, please contact Lesli Graft, Office Coordinator, directly via email at [email protected] or via phone at (405) 232-4820. The registration deadline is September 26th.
